Here are the final results of the 2010 HPWS at the Orleans.

The winner, (Mark Heder) scored 3324 points and won $279,000.

Overall finishers from HTR and approx cash prize below. Unfortunately no one from our group was able to break into the top-10 this year, but i can tell you that we all had a really good time! The tournament seemed to be a success in most respects despite a lower than expected turnout that may have been due to the limited number of free quallies this year. The 599 entrants was well under the expected 750 player estimate and caused a signficant drop in prize payouts.

11th Doug Dodson ($3000) (2880 pts)

17th Paul Parker ($3000) (2747 pts)

20th Massa & Mayo ($3000) (2700 pts)

Boy, a bunch of our members finished in the 31st - 80th grouping and received about $900 (between 2100-2400 pts). Exact finish is not important as they all get the same money. I hope i got all these right, if anyone was missed, please holler at me.

= Joe Koury had a huge day and won $3000 for 3rd place Day Money after a big rally on Saturday.

Good try everybody and thanks for the kind compliments and it was a pleasure to talk with many of you during the contest. See you soon. Judy, thank you for the encouraging message in the Day-3 thread.

Here is a photo from the HPWS. I had a very great and intense time. Looking forward to doing it again.

The photo shows My Table which includes a great bunch of people, to wit, (standing) Bob Swickard (CA), Mark Behrend (CT, 2009 HPWS Champion), John Pavelo (CA), Howard Newstadt (PA), and (seated) Tracey and Miles Richards (FL), and Mark Maguire (CA). As you can see, we were extremely wired for this tournament. I'm wearing my sponsors T-Shirt from The Whip Tavern in West Marlborough, Chester County, PA. I would highly recommend going hundreds of miles out of your way to tip a few at this fine establishment, http://www.thewhiptavern.com/twt_scenes.html .

Thanks goes to Bob and Mark for helping to set this table up. I think Miles ended up as the top finisher of this group, but it was nip and tuck for three days. John Pavelo hit the NZ $100 capper the first day at SA. Finally, good luck to Spike tomorrow at Monmouth. I'll most likely see you guys at Laurel the next weekend.

Nice photo Howard!

Also The Whip looks like a very nice bar to settle into.
