We have JULY 19 updates of
HTR2.EXE lots of new stuff, see below
MAXVEL.EXE , bug fix only, but a big one, so you need this version if you use MaxVel
ROBOT2.EXE added the third of my trio of exclusive filters, the new one is "BTL Last Out"
THE ROBOT2 USER GUIDE (PDF) is also ready.
You'll find all this stuff in the usual places, if you can't find them, leave message here for Rick.
If you have questions about the new items, i'll detail them at the seminar and in the upcoming newsletter. If you are coming to the seminar with your laptop, we can put all this on your computer.
What is "BTL" ? 'Better Than Looked' in the horse's previous start. The three new key items -
PROJECTS NEW TOP
FIT AND READY
BTL LAST OUT
This is the threesome of the new exclusive factors. The formulas and methodology remain in the vault. They are a diverse group of algorithms for high impact. You don't have to take my word that they are effective though, test them with ROBOT2.
One interesting thing i noticed about the BTL is that it works much better on young horses than older ones.
notice its BTL, not BLT, but i love BLT sandwiches, on whole wheat, toasted.

You don't need to many links. All the updates are in the full install.
I have added the 19 Jul 09 version of HTR2.exe, Robot2.exe and MaxVel.exe to the HTR2MaxvelRobot2Setup (http://htr.horsedata.com/HTR_Protected/dnl/HTR2MaxvelRobot2Setup.exe) full installer. It is in the Subscriber Zone.
The Robot2 User Guide 2009 (http://homebased2.com/km/pdf/Robot2_User_Guide_2009.pdf) is now up in the HTR Library.

Click on the link in the Library and it comes up - link not found. Tried several times with the same result.

Thanks.
Should work now.
I had too many /pdf/'s in the link.
Another of those things I should have checked but didn't.

I thought you were talking about the link I posted in this thread cause that didn't work.
I just looked at the HTR Library. The problem is that it is all caps. I don't remember making it all caps.
I will fix it. Thanks much.
Maybe I need to look for a new program to do the website in.
I might have to go to Dreamweaver. At least it uses the same html and css as Expression Web.

What did you mean by this Ken?

Hey Rick,
I have Dreamweaver on my laptop if you want to take a look at it at the seminar.
Rick

I thought of moving to Dreamweaver after we started the Subscribers Zone.
Part of the fun is trying to keep the two separate web sites working together.
Another thing is that Dreamweaver is capable of uploading to the Subscriber Zone, where Expression Web can't.
I think most of my problem was "operator head-spacing". I just messed up. I copied the old link for the old Robot and tried to just make the changes where it would work with the new Robot2 user guide.
I know anytime I do something like that I should test it first thing. Like I said before, when I don't it jumps up and bites me.
Maybe one of these days I will learn.
Probably not.

Dehere =
(cut and pasted from the thread on the General Forum)
This is a quick overview of the update. Full details will be presented at the seminar and in the July/August newsletter. The newsletter has complete information on each add-on below and a discussion of items that were not included in this update as well.
The top header has been updated with new information =
"r" designation after the Claiming type to indicate restricted or beaten claimer
PAC-PER pars in place of the single EPR
Chalk Evaluator Grades, such as "B-C" designate the strength of the ML Favs
The (!) symbol after the Vi indicates a Chaos race
Q6 = n for every race to indicate the number of early speed horses and possible pace pressure. An "r" symbol here indicates "Rule of 50" races.
The Chalk Evaluator Full Card Screen (large blue button located at bottom of main screen) now shows the program numbers for the ML Favorites that correspond to the grades. On some screens in HTR, including the Program Screen, (*) are put in front of the MLO to indicate they are the Fav1 and Fav2 picks.
The powerful Robot2 filters: Projects New Top and Fit and Ready (and BTL) have been added to the comments section of the [KM] screen as PrjTop and FitRdy respectively. The [Light Bulb!] screen lists them in the individual horse comments. These items have also been incorporated into the $ and $$ formulas.
Minor cosmetic bugs were fixed.
Export adds nLONG = 3,4 now (see HX4.pdf) if you are using a database.

Guys once again having problems with the Virus Software not allowing the download nor are the file working like they used to. I can launch the mis program with vista. It is quite frustrating to say the least.
I cannot just save the file in HTR like I used to and launch.

Disable the virus program off before you install. Or try to SAVE the file first to the hard drive or another media, then launch it while off the Internet. Anything being blocked is due to the Internet.
What as the solution before? Turning off the Administrator function?

To Further elaborate:
I am getting the message The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.
Click OK to try again< or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'HTR@ Installer for XP,VISTA,ME,2000.msi" in the box below.
My path is listed as follows Users\Computername\AppData|Local\Temo|isBBF7\
I tried to change the path to HTR folder and that wont word since there is no MSI file in HTR
Thanks for the help!!

Thanks for the quick reply. What do you mean by off the internet?
I have not had problems with this unit other than the virus software.

Great suggestion in turning off the Virus Software to download the file. (too easy) . I had actually defined the HTR Download path as a safe site, and it still blocked it.

Ken or Rick
What is the Notepad file that is put onto our desktop? Do we need to keep it there?
Can it be deleted or moved off the desktop?
Thanks ...have a great time in "the Ghost Town" according to WSJ ( Vegas ).
Wish I could join, but work is getting in the way.

Are you referring to the ini file? If so you can delete it.
I use Eset NOD32 and don't have those kinds of problems.
I download the install packages to the desktop, run them and then delete them.

What is "BTL" ? 'Better Than Looked' in the horse's previous start.
Ken,
I noticed that the BTL tag comes and goes based on PL selection. Is the BTL in reference to the last out or the pace line selected?
km

Bill, correct, as an example, one aspect of the BTL has to do with early speed velocity.
Assume a horse has competed against tougher company last time and shown some early zip or perhaps was involved in a wicked speed duel last out and quit. If he looks good in today's field in terms of its early speed rank, then it gets the tag "BTL" for the previous effort. But if it can't compete with today's field or early pace, there is no reason to assign the BTL because the horse probably won't look any better.
"BTL", "Fit and Ready" and "Projects New Top", are really a bundle of various angles and spot plays mixed into one element.
Now you got me hungry for a BLT on wheat, extra mayo, add avocado......

We have accumulated a lot new stuff(Thanks Ken). Rick it would be helpful to me if
you post the date of the most recent program, table, etc. I don't think the dates are all the same and
I'm not sure if I have the latest.
Thanks
Rick
