Is there any way to tell in HTR or the export who the apprentice jockeys are? I see it is an option in the Robot.

No there isn’t Mike. (I should say not that I’m aware of.)

The HDW text charts have an apprentice field that can be linked to PP style reports in Access, but nothing that alerts in real time.

March 1, version of HTR2

There is a little "a" in front of the jockey rating = = "a250"

This designates the apprentice jockey on the Program Screen

Robot II has an apprentice jockey eliminator. Later i'll make it an option on the Connections module.

I'm going it to the Light Bulb in HTR2 and maybe some other screens. No one ever requested it for the export, but i'll put it in there too if enough users want it included in HX4.

Ken--
It would be interesting to track on a daily basis. Seems one catches these new jocks and their high mutuels after the regulars have caught on. If it's not too much of a bother, please add it to the HX4 export!
Thanks!

For many of us Ken you couldn’t ever put too much in the exports. :)

In particular any on-off binary flags (such as the razor / 0 - 1) are tremendous alerts on race day and easy to test.

Will do guys, HX4 addition

I should add that the LEARN ALL report has an item on the report "Apprnic Jock". This helps you determine if you want to use the elimination filter.

Example from NYRA, a circuit with lots of apprentices

2009 year to date NYRA racing (AQi, AQU, BEL) Apprentice Riders

Plays = 1233
Win = 9%
ROI = 0.78
IV. = 0.80

I got this by running Robot II on 2009 races, checking only AQU, BEL, leaving all other filters intact. Then running Learn All and looking for the item "Apprntc Jocks" on the report.

BTW: favorites are winning 37% of the races in 2009 at NYRA - yukko

Interesting subject:

So, in todays race 3 at CD...Santia n is@303. It is not marked that way in TLC but is marked
as a positive JKY change, and he is an apprentice.

Am I looking at that correctly?

Does using an apprentice have an impact on the nTRN? Might he have a higher # without apprentice
jockeys?

Thanks everyone.

I noticed that "No Apprentice Jockey" has been a pretty solid throw out on some of my spot plays.

Tomcat, the "a" for apprentice is only on the Program Screen as it was a last minute addition to the update in March.

I'll add it to the TLC in the July update.
