When looking at the results of a run (using a single track). Why does the host track appear in ther shipped from category?

Good question - the answer:

so you know the results of horses that have been running at the same locale and can compare with shippers from outside. Often the shippers are doing much better or worse. Sio it's a good benchmark.

For example, AQU --> AQU is isolated from all other destinations you can inspect the I.V. to see if it is of any benefit to be a local. If you set the Layoff to 60 days or less, you'll be getting a very good account of how horses are doing when returning locally vs. outside shippers. At the beginnig of a race meet, this is even more important as horses often do better a 2nd time out after settling in at the new track.
