Not a sales pitch, but some of their stuff is worth the reduced price. ;)

Thanks for the heads up Jim!

IMHO: 3 who are only good for kindling and 3 worth the cash…

Worth it…

• EXOTIC BETTING

• MODERN PACE HANDICAPPING

• CHAMPIONS

Excellent fire starters… :D

• BET WITH THE BEST…(any version)

• OFF THE CHARTS

• SPEED TO SPARE

BTW: One book my Rays would like…”How to replace a 3rd basemen & left fielder when your minors only have pitching in two easy steps”

Fun; most defiantly / relaxing...not quite!

I am not cut out for jet-lag and through some quirk of fate we wound up in Beijing for the opening of the games when a family of 8 had to cancel. As amazing as it was, that’s as much flying and time-zone shock as these bones can handle! :o

Let’s play some horses; those exchange rates are not pretty on a bankroll!!! It looks like Ken continues to push the envelope with this new amazing upgrade and playing the races without it in Europe felt like dancing nude in Yankee stadium.. Two things better left to Muttonchops. :D

Well since everyone is entitled to their opinion (no matter how wrong you are Dan :D)

Bet with the Best
Just the Longshot version. I was surprised to find some good nuggets in there.

Speed to Spare -- A very good book on form cycles even if you don't use Beyer.

Modern Pace Handicapping

Waste of a Tree

Off the Charts
Exotic Betting -- Ironically, Crist's chapter in Bet with the Best-Longshots is better than this book. Very little real useful stuff in here I found. For a real good take on how to bet exotics buy Tomcat's book.

Brad Free's book -- good book for beginners tho.

All that because I didn’t buy you a pint across the pond mate? :D

You’re so right Hug; no hard and fast rules with anything subjective and especially books. HTR is like that perfect pair of shoes at this point :) and yet someone else might develop blisters.

Dan, as long as the schedule continues to work in your favor and you get to play one team after another with a losing record while the Sox and the Evil Empire gets to play the halos, the White Sox and other real teams you should stay in pretty good shape. Just a thought.

Welcome back though - everyone missed you. I mean there were times when days seemed to go by without nary a post hereabouts.

Thanks Henry!

I can’t let the baseball reference go by without a home-town reminder that the Rays have played a very tough schedule this year. These injuries however; without a waiver wire pickup will be brutal. It’s still a claimer running vs. Gr-1’s and we know how that movie usually comes out.

As far as the BBS…I think it’s actually a positive that people here only write when they actually have something to say as opposed to my rambling on for example. On some BBS’s you can’t tell the posts from prank phone calls! :D

Dan - you been abroad too long and must have missed July and August. Since July 1 and out of 35 games the Rays have played 31 (89%) against teams with losing records and their record over those 35 games was 21-14 (60% win). Compare that with the Sox who had 12 of 34 (35%) against similar teams with a record of 18-16 (53% win). We'll see what happens next week when its the Rays against LAA and CWS eh?

Line-2…Henry your on the air with HTR sports talk. :D

Or / When looking at the season on a whole… ;)

The Rays have swept the Angels, Cubs, Marlins, Red Sox (twice), ¾ vs. White Sox etc. I can’t remember when the last time they missed a teams #1 starter. There are NO easy schedules in the AL east (28-19 in division) and if you want to see inequities…check out the travel schedules of the Yanks / Boston and the red-headed step-child Ray’s. Boston’s Japan trip aside; there have been some ridiculous logistical trips for the locals. (A very under-rated gambling stat in sports, just as were finding out rest is in thoroughbreds)

The injuries have obviously reduced their chances SIGNIFICANTLY, but when David Price & company comes up it will be the best pitching staff in baseball…period.

Just what Ken wanted Henry was a sports chat room!!! Sorry to all and especially to Jim for some serious thread highjack! :o
