Downloaded these files but when I enter HTR, they do not appear. Have tried several times with same result. Know nothing wrong with the program because I downloaded CRC for the 28th and it appears when I enter HTR. ???

Most common reason for this is having the previous year files for the same date mixed in.
Delete your cards from SAR and DMR 2007 first, then download again.
File names match year to year, so trim your folder from last year's matching date when downloading. Save previous year in a separate folder if you want to keep them.

The problem may be that those files were in the demo file last year.
This year must have less races than last years date.
Open up Windows Explorer for C:\htr and sort by date modified. It needs to be sorted oldest to newest. Delete the files from Jul 2007.
You should be OK after that.
You can't have more than 365 days of races in one folder.

That worked Rick. Thanks

I have the same problem, but that is not the solution.
No matter what, neither track shows up.
I even made a new file, put only Dmr and Sar for 7/28/08, and I can see the files in there, but the program says there are no files in the folder.
On my other computer, both days open fine, but that is the program that cannot change pace lines, so I'm outta business.

As I recall those were the demo files in the Full Install up until I posted the 23 Jul 08 version of the full install.
Last year SAR had 11 races on 28 Jul and this year they only had 10 races. You have to find and delete the 11th race from last year. I would sort all the files by date and look for those dated around Jul 07.
You can't have races that cover more than 365 days in one folder.
Normally when the program says there are no files there you just have to click on the folder button again.

I just downloaded 28 Jul 08 SAR into a directory where I had 28 Jul 07 SAR.
Go all the way to the bottom of the file list in HTR2. Open where it says SAR Jul 27 2007 (Sat).
Look at race 1. The date says Mon Jul 28, 2008. Go to race 11. It shows Jul 28, 2007. Delete that race.
Then click on the folder button and you should fine SAR up at Jul 28 2008.
All it takes is that extra race from last year to mess up HTR2. If there were the same number of races or more it would overwrite all the old races.

You're right - that pesky race was still in there. Got it to work now.
The double click on the "empty" folder worked, too.
Thanks Rick!!

I can still remember the first time it happened to me.
Took me a little while to figure it out. In fact I probably had to ask km.
The old HTR didn't replace last years races. I guess that was the DOS version.
The Windows version overwrites files with the same name. I will have to test to see if checks the date and how it handles files if the new file has an older date.
That wouldn't happen too often.

I just tested it. I added last years SAR racefile back into the same directory and when I ran HTR2 it extracted the races and overwrote todays races with last years races.

Hey Rick, next time you configure the demo, use sample cards with 8 or fewer races. Then next year, the files will be certain to over write!
Sorry about the goofy mixup everyone, but it is a good reminder to trim your local folder (HTR) to 364-days or less before downloading.
