View Full Version : Walking through an HTR card start to finish?

Would anyone have any interest in walking through the approach/observations of a full card? For instance, picking a card and offering insight into what you look for/what screens you utilize/what sticks out when using HTR to cap the card? Maybe focusing on races where you find a strong longshot or a strong favorite, or even a few value horses that look playable?
Maybe this is too much to ask.. I just think personally I would gain a lot of insight from watching an HTR veteran walk through a full card. I've used HTR for several months with moderate success. I fell though that I need to step back and see what an everyday HTR user does in the way of approach/insight into a card.
If anyone would have interest in this, please let me know.
Thanks
Scott

Well, I would love to attend, but as I mentioned earlier, my wife is 3 months pregnant and we have a 3 year old.. (And living in Delaware, it's not a day trip to vegas for the seminar)..
That's why I asked this...

Didn't mean to be flip with you SQ, fully understand your circumsttances.
Power Point is the best bet for your idea - do you have MS Office? I'll talk with Rick and Donnie in Vegas and see what can be done in terms of a presentation that users could view in slide-show format with charts and graphs for easy understanding.
Good idea for a future tool - thanks

Believe me, I would LOVE to attend, I actually had mentioned it to her, as we would have taken a nice little vacation to Vegas.. Then I had to go get stupid and spend quality time, and well that just ruined it all :-)
I've read all of the newsletters and love the information on angles.. I love HTR because I used to be an MPH guy for a while and its great to have a one click Pace screen..
I just would love to see how one approaches a card/race and begins to focus on contenders/non-contenders and strong faves or longshots.. I am still not comfortable with that..

Regarding Vegas, I see the agenda calls for some time focused on basics, which I will appreciate. But, I too would like to see how you guys go about doing what you do. Is it cool to literally look over some shoulders at times?

I'm with SQ. I would love to see someone else's take as far as going through a card with the software. I will say, though, that it has been alot of fun tooling around with the various screens and coming up with my own approach (I've been a member since November)
Wish I could be in Vegas for the seminar (I was very close to going), but, I'll give you one guess as to where I'll be instead.
If you schedule next year's seminar for opening day at Del Mar, I promise I'll be there.
Best regards
