DanG recently posted about winning / losing streaks
So for all of us who think they've missed a few in a row..
Consider the plight of jockey Stevie Gillum / current Delta Downs q-horse meet
61 mounts
0 wins
0 seconds
0 thirds
hey, he got a few 4ths !!!
Probably no record but hard to be much more feeble
The guy was a decent rider a few years back
With less than 2 weeks to go in the meet, he has a chance to go 0-0-0 for the meet

Poor guy qhRick, they need to card a 3-horse field for him. But most of the horses he's riding are likely impossible bombs? ......
I don't think he can match the record of futility by Steve (Wonder Boy) Cauthen in 1979. He ventured to SA Winter meet after his Affirmed Triple Crown year, full of confidence. But he lost more than 90 consecutive races, most of them low-odds quality contenders from top barns. He left the meet early and finally won one later in NY after losing over 100 in a row to start the year 1979. The 'stevey off' angle produced flat bet profits the rest of the meet at SA when his horses returned to race without him.

My goodness Rick;
Now I don’t feel so bad! Just imagine the poor soul who has a progressive show bet on him!
The biggest drought I could find among thoroughbred riders was Ruben Pizarro (Cby) 44-0-0-0. For trainers it’s Stanley W. Roberts (Lad) 57-0-0-0. Yes…they both ran out with their following horses.

He's riding mostly garbage
7 of the 61 under 10/1 tho, avg odds around 28/1
the 0-61 doesn't seem too impossible, the never in the money seems very unlikely, and thats with some modest fields at times, never more than 10 starters
I guess in 30 years there'll be another crappy jock in a slump with first name Steve
Maybe Gillum should look for a q-track in England
