A big month of July upcoming on HTR.
I will be releasing the new upgrade to HTR2 after the 4th of July weekend. Probably July 8.
The July/Aug newsletter is all about the new features and has complete details on every new function and screen. Read carefully, there is a lot of fresh material to work with. In addition we will also be putting up several other PDFs =
= "What's new with HTR2" is a summary sheet for the 2008 update
= "Robot User Guide", completely updated for the new version
= "HX4 File Spec" (HX4 has 10 new data fields)
= Bonus Guide written by Mel Moser: "Newsletters in Nutshell"
Our July 23 seminar will expand on all this with some exclusive content, hot keys, spot plays, 'easter eggs' and insider tips. For those not attending the seminar, you can purchase my presentation summary and the exclusive content in a PDF report. Rick and I will work on this after we return from Vegas, give us a week or two to assemble. We'll ask you for the same $40 that the seminar goers paid - this will be a donation to Rick - he'll send you private link to read the PDF.
However, the presentations that Donnie, Mel and Mayo give, are a "stays in Vegas" situation and will never be repeated or written about. In my case, I'm obligated to our monthly subscribers not to withhold anything and at least summarize my lecture notes and ensure everyone has the same software upgrade info. But as always, it is impossible to convey the depth of material we will cover in a live meeting. Be there if you can.

Expecting the newsletter and software update to be posted by Thursday. We have to get the PDFs proofed and finalized in the next two days, Rick will post an announcement when everything is ready for download.

That's the best best "front to back" document I've read in a long, long time. Even though I have read all the past newsletters, I am shocked at what I didn't know. Thank you very much for your efforts, Mr. Moser.

Who's Duane? You mean Daven the proofer.
Mel compiled the whole thing and wrote it,
Daven, Rick and I edited it and updated some of the content.
Mel orginally wanted to use the doc for the seminar, but i talked him into allowing us to put it up now and i think we did the right thing so everyone has time to read it. Fantastic job he did.
Attempts by Donnie and others to index the various items from past newsletters have been done, but it's a tough chore to keep up with. It would be a lot of work to extract every heading and alphabetize every subject matter and research topic. If i had know any better 10 years ago, i guess we could have kept a db, but who woulda thought the newsletter would end up such a historical treasure!

Sorry; I stand corrected. :o
Too many horses names in my head to keep information straight anymore!

...and I just followed your lead, Dan.....originally thanked "Duane", thinking I misread the opening page last night! Thought maybe you had a hot tip on a dead crab. Daven is a SUPER guy, and yes, he deserves the credit as as well!
Speaking of which...anyone know if he is attending the seminar?
Concerning this quote....
...but who woulda thought the newsletter would end up such a historical treasure!
I wonder how much I could get on Ebay for all my "archived" copies of the newsletter that used to be printed and snail-mailed out to subscribers...???:eek:

Donnie, a complete collection would fetch $500 (from me!), i didn't save most of the old ones (mailed versions), just a few that Ernie gave me. Volume 1, #1, there may be only a handful of copies left around. If anyone wants to sell it (original) i'll give you $100. The earliest edition I have is Jan 1998.
Yes Daven is excited about attending the seminar and will be there. In fact, he asked me if i would discuss the relevance of the par on the FIG2 screen (dotted line and par fig above), and i told him that was your territory this time - so hopefully you'll get into that.

That’s your first mistake Donnie! :D Just the thought of a 3:00 Belmont & 10:00 Hollywood has my mind like applesauce!
I corrected the post before Ken blocks my IP address! :o

thanks John - i'm amazed that you saved them!
Can I offer you $150 for those orgininal six 1997 issues if you want to part with them?
I found copies from 1998-1999 in my old file drawer.
Bring them to Vegas if you to part with them for some cash, much appreciated.
I'm guessing Ernie has them also, but i want him to save them like he does all the old handicapping programs. HTR's official historical archivist. Ernie even had an orginal copy of the MPH software and booklet written by Brohamer from 1994.

I'll bring the 1997 news letters with me to LV..
When looking for the letters I also found my original copy of the MPH software
and Tom Brohamer's User Manual.
Ernie isn't the only one who has kept the 1st program.
