I purchased a laptop that has Vista as it's operating system. Last night I tried to install HTR. The program installs BUT.....it tells me the date for downloading data is May 2, 2008... I check my computer's calendar and it's got the right date (Feb 2008)....this morning I check the installed HTR and the dates have changed to June 2, 2008

This is version January 11 2008.

What am I doing wrong?...I have HTR installed on my desk top that also uses Vista at home so even though I'm not very adept at using computers, I'm not totally inept.

Help please...I'm travelling to New Haven for the Autotote contest on the weekend and would like to have my laptop running

I think the problem is you have the computer set for Canadian dates.

Change it to USA dates.

Open Control Panel > Click on Clock, Language, and Region > Click on Regional and Language Options > Click on Formats Tab > Change Current format: to English (United States) > Click OK

That's the ticket - if you purchase a computer that has been date formatted for Canada or Europe, today's date looks like this =

06 / 02 / 2008 (Feb 6, 2008)

but USA date format puts the Month first

02 / 06 / 2008 (Feb 6, 2008)

Windows allows you change this formatting as Rick describes. But if left in the orginal order, HTR reads the date backward and would show June 2, 2008 for today's date and would crash on 02/13/08 (13/02/08 !)
