I just got my December paid subscriber list from HDW. I compared it with the DRF Qualifier listing at

http://www.drf.com/nhc/2007/qualifiers.html

Only the "last chance" tournament at Red Rock remains with open spots

From top to bottom on the DRF listing, here is the list as best I can gather it, of all the HTR members competing this year, including spouses and beards with the subscriber name or bbs nickname in ( ).

Sally Wang (Richard Goodall)
Anthony Montanino (NC Tony)
Michael McKee (MVM)
Jim Sims (Mike Mayo and KM)
Richard Goodall
Hope Montanino (NC Tony)
Wes Burquest (burk)
Pat Bergman (Gordon Bergman)
Bryan Wagner
Judy Wagner
Mike Mayo
Mel Moser (mall)
Henry Damgaard (dehere)
Daven Turner (buckfan)
John Buls (dawgfan)
Jan Hurst ('mark' Fogarty)
TJ Taylor (valupix)
Philip Lam
Van Marsh
Paula Damgaard (dehere)

That's 20, and i have a feeling i missed at least one. Please chime in if i missed a name. So we have about 8% of the total entries at the NHC this year, easily a record for us (13 last year) and a tremendous achievement. Make us proud gang!

Wow...That is really remarkable.

No wonder even the contest legend “The Tejas Kidd” recently said he tries to avoid going head to head with too many HTR players.

Okay, so you can't use HTR in this thing because 8% of the folks are HTR players - and you probably can't use the sheets because there's a bunch of those folks too - and Bris will clam credit for everyone so you can't use Bris - I got it - Paula Damgaard's gonna win this thing with the "five star" method. Don't ask me what it is or else I couldn't use that one either because, I gotta tell yu, its a sure thing in a contest like this.

Welcome to HTR Dennis!
(HTR + Dennis Tiernan at a tournament is like getting Matches + Dynamite together)

21 of our subscribers into the NHC and dozen more at the HWS. Somebody is likely going home with 6 figures.

Welcome aboard TJ!!
LOL…

You said it Donnie…

I feel like that Sheriff in Largo when Clint Eastwood showed up in High Plains Drifter! The 'Tejas Kidd is in town and he’s taking names. This is only good for HTR and the game. Welcome aboard Dennis!

Rumor has it this is the way Dennis is riding into Vegas this year…;)

Thanks for the love guys.
Only lately I've been feeling a lot like Barney Fife.
Hoping to make a breakout next week.

Although I don't care for the format of the NHC. I am still Jealous. Who will be the next Stanley Bavlich? Good Luck to all the HTR's.

Wasn't there a Judy Wagner who won this thing? Same person?

Judy Wagner won the NTRA contest in its second year. Judy and her husband Bryan are BOTH excellent handicappers;Judy forgot more about our game than most players will ever know. Bryan would be the first one to tell you that Judy is not his or anyone else's ''beard''

I talked to Judy last night and she mentioned this thing about the 'beard'. I didn't understand at first what was misunderstood, but realize it was my fault.

My apology if anyone thought the list meant she was anything but a champ in her own right.

I listed Brian in ( ) originally as he is the account holder / billed HTR subscriber, no other reason.

Judy is an outstanding handicapper and horseperson and a key member of the Louisiana racing establishment - and doing great work there.

Now I am confused Ken.

Does Judy use HTR? Does Brian?

Did the racing form have profiles of all the contestants today? Is there an on-line link? I seem to recall seeing a document perhaps PDF which had a profile for all the contestants last year.

thanks,
Jim

They don't do the profiles anymore that i can find on DRF.

Brian and Judy are husband and wife subscribers. I don't charge double per household! We have many of those on HTR, I assume they are both using the software to handicap, but you would have to ask them.
