There will be 275 players in the NHC this year competing for a whopping $1million in prize money. That's the highest number of players ever and the largest purse exceeding last year by about 10%. There are at least 50 spots remaining including several on-line contests to be announced.

I talked to Judy Wagner at the FPX contest. She said the $100,000 she won several years ago is analogous to a baseball player from the 1980s making $100,000 and thinking that was good pay! 100 Gs ain't what it used to be. Winner this year will make half-mil and the 3rd place finisher might make nearly 100k if they pull some day money.
Last year HTR players took out about $200,000 from the NHC. We had 11 qualifiers last year - probably exceed that in 2008.
