So many tracks, so little time. Always seems to be one or two that really got away. But how bout this Big Fish?

Race 2, Belmont

11 Big Daddy Rex.............. $123.00 $37.80 $16.40
7 Dr. D. F. C................ $5.40 $3.70
2 Striking Rizzi............. $3.50

DD 6-11 $521.00
EX 11-7 $788.00
QU 7-11 $233.00
TF 11-7-2 $5563.00

Surely there isn't a whole lot to recommend a 60-1 shot, right?

That is unless you see #2 Form Cycle, #3 Ped, #2 Jockey. AND a quick check of the trainer stats, shows this combo is an amazing 4 for 6 (now 5 for 7) on the turf!

I really have to hire someone to do my lawn and spend the time on-line!

Hi curve ball,
I have no idea what any of these things mean:
#2 Form Cycle,
#3 Ped,
#2 Jockey.
trainer stats, shows this combo is an amazing 4 for 6 (now 5 for 7) on the turf!

What I do know is that it would be pretty simple to write a computer program to find combinations like this for you. I don't know how to use the HTR software yet, so if it does this already forvgive my ignorance.
But, if you told me how much each of those characteristics mean, give them a weighting in other words, and then determine a formula for creating a SCORE (a blackjack term used in finding games which are beatable) which indicates a good horse to bet on, that wouldn't be too hard. I'll try to give an example, now remember I know nothing about horse racing, so this is an example of weighting, not my understanding of how important these factors actually are:

trainer win % on track type (turf) weight = 3 (convert % to percentile rank, rank 1-2-3, 4/6 is a 3)
form cycle weight=2
jockey weight=2
pedigree weight=1

SCORE = 20

Let's say that you make a rule that any SCORE above 15 is bettable. The computer could easily alert you and probably make the bet too.

Just my random thoughts,

Good thoughts! I am sure others already have this set up. When you get more familiar with HTR you will identify these factors. They can be very profitable.

Yeah someday I will figger oot this confuter. :D
