Congrats to DanG, he has won the Spot Play Contest!!

Both of his final plays tested well over 2.00 ROI and within the bounds of > win10% and 600 plays. No one else was able to muster that - (although they came close) - so he is our champion!

Dan, send me your mailing address via email and i'll get that $500 check out to you.

Thanks to all the participants, it was really a surprising and eye opening thread and i guess set a record for most hits on our bbs. Great work everybody.

Ken,

This was so much fun and a great learning experience.

Sincere thanks for creating the vehicle and for providing the backbone of HTR. I think your original goal succeeded because I got a call from an old friend from Vegas yesterday and he had heard about the contest. Either word is really traveling down the strip, or Dave Tuley deserves a nice bar tab from all of us. :)

I have to honest…I feel I actually finished 4th at best in this contest.

• Mark did incredible things that I honestly didn’t think the robot could achieve.
• Jim’s last play has maybe the highest average price I’ve ever seen (for that sample size) and if he had any time left to tweak it he wins going away.
• Mike Dee can make Access & Data do headstands. I wish I had half his knowledge.

I hesitate to mention three people, because everyone gave so much.

(QRick had a very clever approach as did Duane… Donnie has taught me so much about Access and HTR, EDW with his generosity, Rick with him doing so many behind the scene functions and never seeking recognition, Henry programming free applications to extract chart data…etc…I could go on all night)

Once again…I’ve experienced first hand what those before me have seen in HTR and the way Ken conducts his business….Also… For the first time I’m starting to see what attracts so many of you to the contest format. It’s as enjoyable as it is challenging.

Here’s a presumptuous statement…Maybe an annual event??? :)

I have a feeling we will have MANY more participants next year and that’s only a good thing. The stronger HTR is… ultimately… the stronger we all are!

Salute to all…

A gentleman won and responded with his customary grace.

It was a pleasure to compete and "get a call" amongst your caliber, one and all.

A remarkable achievement Dan. Hear Hear!

Nice going Dan. And a sweet ROI.

Looks like everyone could end up a winner from this contest.

Nice going Dan ! I learned so much from this contest. I have been floundering in the 1.00 - 1.10 range for a long time (not that theres anything wrong with that). I now have tons of ideas that will help move that number up. Thanks to Ken, Rick & everyone who contributed to this great endeavor !

BIG CONGRATS ALL AROUND!!!

DanG, as I said before, Grade I performance. Up against very strong graded stakes contenders and you kept on comin'.

Jim, Mark and all the others contributed so much and opened so many eyes to so many possibilities we just flat-out never thought of.

Ken and Rick, thanks for all the effort.

It's guys like me, just taking the first steps, who benefited sooooooooo much.

Thank you all. If I ever make it to the seminar, it's drinks on me.

NICE JOB Dan!!! Huge congrats!! You deserve all the credit...you put in the long hours testing! One note: we already have an annual event...the summer conference followed by the Gold Coast Summer Classic! I think you would really have a fun time there!
Congrats again! Job well done!

Much congratulations Dan, and thanks to all. Being relatively new to HTR (just short of a year) and new to the spot play game (thanks to HTR for opening my eyes to that aspect of the game!) I've learned quite a bit and hope to be a contributor and (rabid! :p )competitor the next time around.

Aventura!!!

Mike, if you attend any live racing maybe we can run into each other while attempting to avoid the slot machines! :D I plan on making it down there at least one more time before the horses move north.

Thanks for the congratulations everyone. Not really deserved, but they are appreciated.

Dan if im in town would be a great idea, currently in Kentucky.

Would be much harder to avoid a few of the strip clubs.

If not Gulfstream Dan perhaps Tampa. I have been known to make the west coast swing

and not just for Mans Venus.
