Would someone be willing to run the robot on a larger sample of races for me from TP's polytrack. Not sure if this is ok to ask so if it's not I understand.

I only have about 4 weeks here but am seeing something real strong over about 145 races.

1) all classes
2) uncheck 2 yr olds
3) use all purses - sexes - vi
4) K2 and K3 only
5) artificial surface checked
6) 6f and 6.5f only checked
7)"odds type" - check kline and set odds 1/9 to 9/1( good random number based on field sizes at TP)

Just curious what the "all" shows on top. I know it can be broken down from there.

Rich,

I am not near my laptop, but wanted to point out that your query is predicated on rankings. That is not a bad thing, but if you are using serious money, be aware that a few scratches can make a big difference.

Also using closing odds is a touchy thing. We can pretty much tell when a horse is going off at even money or less. But it is a fine line between 6-1 and 12-1. Of all the odds ranges, I think this one is actually the most volatile in the last minute. We all have seen horses at
6-1 with 1 minute to post drift up past 10-1 and get hammered below 3-1.

I love going through the database and doing things like this. Your query shows that #1 K is in a slump. My take on this information would be to look for races where this horse is bet and then try to pounce on it with the next 2 K rankings.

Just remember these short term patterns turn around. Over time, the K rankings have been proven to be very linear. #1 wins more than #2, #2 wins more than #3, etc.

Hi Jim,
Thank you for replying.

Just to clarify my "look" is at the "kline" oddsline which after entering scratches do not change as far as I know. That is why this is interesting because it is NOT based on closing odds which do fluctuate wildly like you stated but rather on Ken's kiline which is stable once scratches are entered.

Very best of luck in your upcoming contest Jim!

You look like you got a good handle on things! I guess at one track it is easy to click each race and enter the scratches.

I dont use ATR Pro is that the way others get their files updated?

Good Luck at Turfway Rich! Looks like there is good money to be made there!

I find it hard to believe that all HTR users don't use ATRpro to get their scratches.

That by itself makes the program worth it, especially if you are betting multiple tracks.

I agree ... major time saver on scratches.

Major issue with ATRpro and getting scratches (something I hashed out with Bris):

Brisnet gets the late scratches LATER than almost everyone else, later than Brisbet, later than Tsnbet, later than Equibase, the track's own website, etc. I asked someone at Brisnet about this and they said the system was set up to get the scratches to BrisBet/TSNbet first and then to Brisnet.
While I can usually get scratches off TSNbet one hour prior to post they often do not show up until 20 minutes or so before post on Brisnet. Very frustrating.
I find it takes about 5 minutes to input scratches from the 3 to 4 tracks I'm playing. No big deal.

I find the philly park scratches alternative to work just fine. I have about 50 cents in my philly park account and haven't used it for years to actually bet a race - but it never goes away as a good source for scratch info.

Tony, you suggested using brisnet for scratch information. I was referring to the "odds" button on the main HTR screen which I thought was only set up to use in conjunction with pinnacle. I did not know it worked with Bris - does it?

1) Does that odds button work with bris or some other service?
2) Does it still work with Pinnacle even though Pinnacle is not taking bets from the US? (I can find out the answer to this one obviously but thought maybe someone knew the answer already.)

I'm not sure who you talked to, but when we visited Equibase, the guy who runs the scrartch program told us that he posts the scratches as soon as the tracks notify him. Evidently some tracks post scratches on their own programs first and then on to Equibase. Once again we are at the mercy each track.

With the appropriate setup, ATRpro can supply odds data for HTR2 users in the background. Set Option 20 to HTR (slide 112 at http://homebased2.com/atr/dnl/ATRdocs.pdf), pick any track list (Racing Channel, Supertote, or Pinnacle), start the ATRPro downloading of data for one or a group of tracks, and then 'make ATRpro invisible' (Slide 92).

The AutoScratch function in HTR2 is described starting on Slide 116.

Pizzaman,
Is anyone using 4NJBETS with ATRPRO?

Tomcat,
I often go to each tracks webpage to get the scratches since they are not up on Equibase. For example, if I went to bet Calder at lunch I would check Equibase and find nothing. On the Calder site would be the track condition (very helpful) and all the scratches for the day.

I don't know if this is true for every track, but it was for Calder and Tampa Bay last month.
