not really Bob, but "times they are a changin!" :)
Never had this problem (changing time zones) so I'm not sure.
Remember, I only have a WIN 98 Machine that doesn't know much. What kind of computer
do you have? I plan to have a new computer by the end of the week. ;)
This sounds to me like a "km problem" which he'll have to solve.
(I can't believe my computer is EIGHT years old!)

And not always for the better, but hey, change is good, yes! :o
I have Win2000, which is quite stable usually (as much as is possible with Gates and Company)!
Congrats on the new computer.
Best,
Bob :)

Bob, never heard of this problem from anyone prior.
There is nothing in the code that would crash it unless the small text file has been corrupted. All that is happening is a read/write to a file called: HTRTZ.INI and saves a number between 0 and 7.
Try deleting that little file (HTRTZ) and re-boot the computer and see what happens.

Ken...
Done! Same result, unfortunately.
It defaults to eastern time zone and any other choice I make causes the run-time box to pop up.
I don't have a clue what might be causing it.
Best,
Bob :)

Bob, "run time error 75" from the the VB manual
75 Path/File access error
One of the following is the problem:
= the file has been designated "read only" - if this is the case you can change it by going into MY COMPUTER and clicking on the file name HTRTZ to view its attributes. Even though you deleted it, the file attribute "read only" may have saved by Windows.
= the network is blocking the read/write operation (is the computer on a network? Windows 2000 is network software)
= the drive or path is not valid, but this cannot be the case because the time zone write-to-file operation defaults to the current directory. So this could only happen if you were running HTR2 from a phantom drive letter or virtual drive in which case the directory (folder) is not actually on the hard disk so the save operation fails.
This error has popped up with export users after they had copied files into their hard drive from a CD. The CD files are "read only" and the export could not write to them. This error has also occured with users that ran HTR2 directly from the Internet (yes, you can run HTR2directly from our bbs by clicking on HTR2.exe and RUN).

THAT WAS IT!!!
Thanks Ken!

hi Bob,
all files copied from a CD will also be marked '..Read Only..'
IF you do '..save Robot.., then Robot files will need to be reset.
the simple solution is:
A. use Windows Search of your HTR folder for HTRCU*.*
B. you should see HTRCU1 or *2 or *3 or *4, depending on which Robots' parameters were saved on the HTR copy to CD.
C. in search window, right click each file and turn off read only.
OR, just use Explorer, sort by size, and the 1KB files will appear at the top of the Explorer window.
I think you will have also have a problem with trying to scratch horses because one or more of the HTR files will record the scratch. However, this would apply ONLY to the old files that you copied from the CD and not the new files added after the copy from CD.
