Hi,

I'm new at this. When I try to open 30 day files I get sent to a java download page. I have clicked the "Active-X ok" but it still won't let me download it. I have had no problem downloading races and results into htr2, so am not sure what's going on.
Any help would be appreciated!

Are you using the download cart to download racefiles and the monthly track profiles?

Do you have Sun Java installed or are you using the Microsoft Java console?

I am running Sun Java.

Under Internet Options, Advanced I have Java (Sun) checked and JIT compiler for virtual machine enabled checked.

As I recall a few years ago we had trouble with the Microsoft Java.

But with that said, I don't use the download cart. I use Reget Deluxe. Takes a little to set up but works great.

Hopefully someone will jump in here that has experienced the same problem you are having.

Thanks Rick,

I'll mess with it. The prompt sent me to the Sun Java site. I'll mess around with my Options and see what happens.

hi Porgy,

I just downloaded the '..1 Month..' (aka 30 day files aka Monthly Track profiles) and had no problem.

my hunch is that SOMETHING has changed on your system since you downloaded the Race and Results files. That is, the process is the same and that worked for you before.

so, try doing another race file to confirm if what you did before still works. If that works, then my hunch is wrong. If the Race files do not work then you have the challenge: How has your computer changed?

I think you may have tried this, but before you spend a lot of time, re-boot your PC if you haven't already done so.

Web Pages today have a mind of their own and if you have visited other pages, some settings could have changed.

It should only take a minute and will save you much more time if it fixes the problem.

Greg,
It may not be that great for those that download files daily but for me that normally download the whole month at one time, its great.

The trick is setting it up. You have to add htr. You have to add your username and password for the site. You have to set the default download directory.

It will intergrate with Internet Explorer to where when you right click on the download page two of the options may be

Download with Reget Deluxe
Download all with Reget Deluxe

Download with Reget Deluxe appears if you happen to right click on a link.

There is also a menu bar that can be activated. With it you just open the date with the files you want to download and click on Download All.

It can download 15 files or parts of a file at a time if on 512 mb cable.

I have a Microsoft Trackball with softare that jumps the pointer to the default block in the window that pops up. So when I click on Download All, when the window pops up the mouse pointer is on OK so all I have to do is left click and hit the backspace so I can click on the next date.

Last time I checked, which was a long time ago, I could download a months worth of racefiles, charts, and results in under 10 minutes.

No messing with the download cart. And if you are on cable or DSL it should be much faster than downloading one file at a time with the download cart.

Of course most users don't need it.
