There is a problem with my hard drive and dell is going to clear it and reinstall windows XP.
They told me to save all my information on my hard drive.
Im using windows Xp and Microsoft Office 2000
I have info stored in Access, Word and Excel.
Any suggestions on how to do this would be appreciated.
Merry Christmas

I would install a new hard drive and make the present drive drive E: (or whatever). That way all of your spreadsheets, databases, documents and htr data files are preserved.
If someone else is suppose to fix the problem for you, you should back up to CD/DVD whatever you need to save so you can copy it back to your new hard drive if required.
That can be anything you have on your hard drive that is not a program. You will probably have to reinstall all of your programs.
You need all your settings for setting up email and internet. If using Outlook you can back up your *.pst file.
Expect everything on your hard disk to be gone. May not be but you can't count on anything you have now being there when you get it back. So make copies of anything you think you want in the future.
