When I try to just export one day of data and select the all file. It says I cannot do that. How can I export a few days data at a time with having to export the entire data base every time?
Thanks

Create a new subdirectory and put the races you want to export into that directory.
Part of the trick is setting up your directories to fit the way you use HTR2. There are many ways of doing it. One way is to set up a subdirectory for each day of the week. Once you have all the results and charts for that day you could either move all the files to another subdirectory for export or just export from the daily subdirectory.
You need to think about how you are going to save and backup your race files w/results and charts. I put them into monthly folders. I can ususally fit three months on one CD. Of course sometime Jul/Aug/Sep will not fit and I end up with Jul/Aug/Dec or something like that.
It is much easier to use the files when you save them in extracted form. It is a royal pain trying to use last years files when they are in the form you downloaded them. That is what is in the c:\htrdata directory.
It just takes a little planning. You can always make adjustments as you go.
You need to keep the old files for when km makes changes/additions to the exporters.

Thank you obviously I need to think about this some to do it the way I want to use it.
Should I keep the original download files or were you refering to the HTR creeated files?

I gave up on trying to save the *.htr files year to year.
If you try to use them on your present computer they can easily overwrite files you already have there.
Just remember that the file names do not have a year identifer in them. So this years files can overwrite last years files and visa-versa.
I do subdirectories like:
C:\htr\Jan 04\
I make sure I put month and year in there.

I keep files like Rick does I keep the unzipped "b" files with the results added and the charts or "c" file. I keep them in a monthly file. At the end of the year I put them together by track in a folder and then I zip all the data for each track for the year into a single zip file for that track and year.
I just delete all of the files in the htrdata folder (thses are the zipped files)
I have a folder I call today. When I want to export some number of days of data I copy the "b" and "c" files from the monthly folder (or whereever they reside) to the today folder.
Then I change htr2 to look at the files in the today folder and run the exporter on all the files I have copied there.
Once I have my data in access I just delete all the data in the today folder and it is ready for the next time.
