I know what the text said the 1-3 numbers stand for, but Im a little confused. Look at Penn National 8/18/04 race 5 horse3--I agree with the 3 designation. Then look at horse # 5--Here there is no nLay90 number. Why not three here. Same with horse #6. No number. Where am I wrong?

Horse #4 had the only 3 in the race.

Horse #4 ---Days since last race. 13---36---316 [ 316-- This is his first race after being off 90 days. —36 his second race after a 90 day layoff—13 todays race is his 3 race after 90 layoff---He gets a 3.

Horse #5---Days since last race. 52---108---141 [ 141—This is his first race since being off 90 days.---108 his second race after a 90 day layoff---52 todays race is third race after 90 day layoff- Why no 3?

What am I doing wrong?

Those numbers are days ago.

For horse #4 you would subtract the 36 from the 316 to get the days off. Since that number is greater than 90 the 36 number is the first race after a 90 day layoff.

Those days ago numbers are how many days back from todays race (18 Aug in this case).
