I want to be clear I set this up correctly- on the Relationship page
I have Hx3, HX4, and HX5 Tables. For each of the following: tTRK, tDate, nRace, and tPGM
I connected HX4 with HX5 , HX4 with HX3, and HX3 with HX5 for each of these four keys.
Is this correct?
thanks, Lee

It should work fine.
You should be able to get by with HX3 to HX4 and HX4 to HX5, but you have all the bases covered.

a quick check to make sure that your join is working is to open your tables and count the number of records in each. If you down loaded the same same set of races into each, then the record count should be the same in each table.
Now run your joined query. Does the record count of the query match the record count of the tables? If so, the join is good and the records are matching in each table.
If you have different counts of records in your tables, then when you run your joined query the record count should match the record count of the table with the lowest record count.

The tables all show same number of records. when you say 'run'the joined query, do you mean open it? If so, It too shows the same record count in bottom left corner but is faded (inactive).
I appreciate your responses - this is going to be worse than pulling teeth; I attempt to explain what i'm trying to do and you try to guess what that means - It might be better for me to layout the entire idea - I can 'duplicate some PP records' - a few to work with. My head thinks in Excel and Boolean arguments and can express the whole idea in that fashion. perhaps you could interpolate where i'm going and express the same with Access Then I can really learn from knowing what I want to do and see it done from Boolean to Access. Would that be an acceptable approach for you? I mean, would you be willing to do the Access part of what I'm expressing with Boolean? If so, I will workup an excel matrix will full explaination and send you an email attachment. mrdez011@ameritech.net failed. are the 011 numbers or letters? I treated them as zero-one-one. Or www.homebased2.com/forums/member.php?action=mailform@userid=3 I may have screwed up this addee.
Tell me what you can do for me. and how to send it.

Lee,
the user is id is the letter O and the number 11
If you have something send it along. I wouldn't go to a lot of bother until we see if it is something I can help with.

One other idea.
You can take any of your queries and export the output of the query to excel for analysis.
Think of the query output like you would the rows and columns of a spreadsheet. After you run your query just click on the magnifying glass icon (print preview) In the print preview mode click on the down arrow to the right of the "W" icon. Then you can click on the "analyize it with excel icon" to export your query output to excel

Mike, that's a great idea - and I do have hx3,hx4, and hx5 tied with relationships (SOR is in hx5). Goiing to Excel is a great shortcut for me until I get up to speed on fancy reports, etc. Thanks again for your help.
