new query

making a new query i get a message active x component can't create object. where did i go wrong

I ran into some problems after installing SpyBot and some other security software. I don't think I ran into any problems in Access but that was probably because I didn't try at the time.

Open Internet Explorer. Click Tools, Internet Options, Security.

Under both Internet and Local Internet click on Custom Level. Try changing the ones marked as Disable to Prompt. Make a note of which ones you changed.
Click OK.

Pay attention to any of the Prompts you receive after making the changes.

Now try doing your query.

If you still have a problem list the steps you went through to get this error message.
