Access Purchase ?

Anyone have any insight as to purchasing "Microsoft Office Professional 2003" w/ Access but it's the "Academic Edition". They sell new for 1/3 the price and claim it's licensed for Home use. Any pitfalls I should be concerned with? Thanks in advance for any insight.

I don't think you have anything to worry about. It should be the same software.

It's just that someone is suppose to be checking that you meet the qualifications before selling it to you at the reduced price.

The '..Academic version..' is a discount program fully endorsed by MicroSoft.
That is, this is not a sales pitch by a shadey reseller unless they are trying
to scam MS out of a piece of the action. So, if your sell is legit, then OK.

However, you must be a FULL time student with proper ID. I have considered
enrolling in some 'classes' just to qualify but at this time I do not need to
add anything to my research tools.

Oh, once I did purchase Adobe Acrobrat 5.0 for a project WITH my nephew.
We used his ID and the software was registered without a problem. The
project never really went anywhere and I was glad the cost was low.

What you get from the seminar, you cannot find anywhere else...and the bad thing is, it happens only once a year! Hopefully we'll see ya both there!

Donnie outs on a great presentation on Access (as do Tomcat and Ken on handciapping).
I went last year for the first time and came away a database fool. I was only a foool going in. LOL

Seriously, it is worth the trip, not to mention a great bunch of people.
