Report from Reno Hilton that Ernie, BobbyB, DougC, AlanN and TommyC are in competition there. Good luck to you guys!

This is a money contest with $300 bankroll each day + a $200 tournament fee. You keep your winnings but the prize money is paltry. Best incentive is that the top 4 get the first qualifying spots for the 2005 National Handicapping Championship (NHC).

For those that spend all year chasing the qually, it would be nice to save 11 months of stress and get it over with on the first try!

Final results in from Reno. About 130 players.

With a $600 bankroll over two days, one player managed to run up an incredible $14, 280 to win it. No doubt an exotic player that hit a major bomb or two.

Prize money was only paid through 13th place though. The other HTR players: TommyC, AlanN and BobbyB did not have lady luck on their side in this one.

It is inevitable with these money tournaments - that allow any type of wager - someone almost always gets very lucky or very hot with the p3, p4, tri or super and blows away the competition. Be aware of the reality necessary to win it before entering such a contest,
