OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES
THE CONTEST
The "$2,500 MAXXAM Gold Cup Online Handicapping Contest" (herein after the contest) is a contest held at www.shrp.com that requires the handicapping of four (4) races at Sam Houston Race Park on Saturday, January 17, 2004. Contestants will be asked to make win, place and show selections on the four races, including the $100,000 MAXXAM Gold Cup.
The winner will be the person with the highest cumulative total from the above races based on an assumed $2 wager, win, place and show.
NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY
There is no purchase necessary to enter this contest. A person must register for this contest online at www.shrp.com.
RULES
1) Patrons visiting www.shrp.com between Thursday, January 15, 2004 at 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. CST on Saturday, January 17, 2004 can register for the contest. Entries, post positions and morning line odds for the four races will be posted on the website Thursday, January 15, 2004 after 3:00 p.m.
2) DEADLINE TO ENTER is 7:00 p.m. CST on Saturday, January 17, 2004, or the contestant and the entry form will be deemed ineligible to participate in the contest. Entries must be submitted online at www.shrp.com by 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2004.
3) Each contestant may enter only one time. Contestants with duplicate entries or more than one entry will be disqualified. All fields on the entry form must be completed for an entry to be eligible. Contestants not filling in the entry form completely will be disqualified.
4) Contestants will be required to make their selections on the designated entry form and place their selected horse for win, place and show only. Contestants may select the same horse for win, place and show or may select different horses for each position. Contestants may only select one horse for each position in each race.
5) Entry blanks listing official horse selections in the designated categories only – win, place and show – must be submitted online by 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2004 to be eligible for the contest.
6) Official results will be posted at www.shrp.com and e-mailed to all participants after 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 19, 2004. All winners will be notified by e-mail on or before Monday, February 17, 2003.
7) Sam Houston Race Park is not responsible for technical difficulties that prevent a contestant’s entry from reaching Sam Houston Race Park via e-mail. All contestants will receive a reply from Sam Houston Race Park upon receipt of entry.
HOW TO ENTER
Each contestant will make one (1) win, one (1) place and one (1) show wager on each designated race. You may select the same horse for the win, place and show wager for each of the four stakes races or select different horses for each position. A selection must be made in the blank for the chosen four (4) races for the wager to be valid.
THE PRIZE
The top six (6) winners will receive a check from Sam Houston Race Park, to be mailed Friday, January 23. A completed W-9 form is required before the check can be mailed.
Prizes will be awarded based on order of finish based on the cumulative total from the contestant’s selections.
The prizes to be awarded are:
First Place $1,000
Second Place $500
Third Place $400
Fourth Place $300
Fifth Place $200
Sixth Place $100
