$2 W/P

8 mandatories and 7 optional each of the 2 days.

They just add the 4 individuals' scores together to get the "team" score. Heck, I never even saw one of the guys on my "team".

Semi-current scores up where they post the lines for the football games. More current paper sheets tacked to the bulletin board every 30 minutes, or so.

Hope this is what you were asking about.

Subject to change, past performances no guarantee of future results, etc. etc.

Good luck!

Ronnie,

The 4 person teams are assigned by the tournament organizers and you can't choose. As Cliff mentioned, you may never even meet your fellow team members from Turfway while you are there unless they add up your scores and take your picture for prizes at the end.

I think Ronnie was hoping to form up a team with other HTR users - not possible unfortunately.
However, Daven Turner and Bob Ramos could end up on the same team as they both qualified from KEE.

Prize money for the 4-person team competition is $20,000 for 1st, $8000 (2nd), $4000 (3rd). So an individual team member can win $5,000, $2,000 or $1,000. But the individual player has no communication with the other team members in most cases, so there is nothing you can do in terms of strategy with the group.

Another thing to remember, especially for Donnie and Sue, is that the only the qualifying named person is permitted into the tournament play area. Friends and spouses cannot go into the tournament zone and give advice, the qualifying player must come out to speak with them - somewhat of a hassle depending on the seating arrangement and especially if using the toteboard to make last minute decisions on your picks. Many contestants have made hasty errors while competing at the NTRA, costing them valuable points in some cases, so players need to carefully fill out their slips and remain focused on the correct track, race and program numbers.

Go for it Suzy!

I just hope you can discreetly get away with it Donnie - all 'communication devices' are banned by the racebooks and they make a big deal of it by threatening us with Nevada Gaming Control shutdown or player dq at every tournament. Maybe someone else can comment that has been to the NTRA on how much emphasis they put on this at Ballys.
