I see on the Racing Channel page that they're going to a subscriber based service, effective on 1-19-04.

Effective Monday, January 19, 2004 The Racing Channel (TRC) will no longer be offering a free racing information service to the general public. Effective this date TRC will be changing to a subscriber based system FREE of charge to "active" account holders of Oneclickbetting.com.

For those of you who are not "active account holders" of Oneclickbetting.com this 30 day notice will provide you ample time to sign up and become an account holder.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause but the excessive use by non account holders have caused a strain on our system thus prohibiting TRC from providing the optimum service to our active account holders.

I've emailed them, asking for more information as to how this would effect programs (since they obviously know that the programs exist) and am waiting for their reply.

I anticipate that ATR can be modified to work for those ATR users who are "active account holders" of Oneclickbetting.com when the Racing Channel becomes subscriber based.

For those ATR users who can not or do not want to become Oneclickbetting.com subscribers, there is hope. An alternative source of free program/tote data is in the works that would be authorized and available only for ATR use.

The same tote via phildelphiapark.com will be available as well, any shot you could modify it to read that as well?

I am planning on heading up to the facility to talk to JM himself at some point after New Years.

It is unfortunate that the industry yet again finds itself in a ludicrous postion of depending upon one entity to supply the masses. The data should be or should have been a co-op of some sort.

No matter what change they invoke, the fans will yet again be the ones that suffer.
I just do not see any way around the fact that if ATR or similar do not function, that we will be back to where we were 10yrs ago, with the rebates where a certain select few have access and the rest of us suffer at a big competitive disadvantage.

Pizzaman, certainly appreciate all the work you have put into your product, and that you have provided such a fine product at a reasonable price.

As one point, Phonebet is the only OTB that's legally allowed in Las Vegas (you have to make your bets by phone and can't use the internet). Actually, I believe that Phonebet is allowed in more states than anybody else.

Looks like it will require a $50 deposit with Oneclickbetting in order to receive the RacingChannel.
