Last Chance to Qualify this Weekend

Best of luck to those of you going to HOO. TommyC, myself and a few others will be firing away at our last opportunity in Phoenix on Saturday at TUP. I'm hoping we get a couple more HTR entries in the NTRA championship. It will be our largest contingent attending in any case.

I wish we could offer an NTRA qualifying spot with our on-line HTR contests. But there are several problems: First, you have to join the NTRA for $5000. Then you have to put up $2000 for each winning qualifyer from the contest to cover tournament expenses and the trip to Vegas. By charging a $100 entry fee, we might be able to cover those costs, but an on-line contest must be free of charge otherwise it violates various federal statutes and state laws. If I win a hundred grander someday I'll be happy to put up the money myself!

Been wondering about all that myself. Could you have "satellite" tournaments where there is a charge to play and winners advance but the ultimate goal would be to play for free for the NTRA qualification?

Similar to what the World Poker Tour, etc. do.

Glad to see you are coming to town. I planned to play in the Tup contest too, but waited a little to long to register. Called on the last day of early registration(Dec 7th) and found out it had been sold out for at least two weeks(200 entries max).

Anyway will try to touch base on Saturday to say hi.
