Several new features have been added to AT THE RACES. This new version can be accessed from a link at the AT THE RACES homepage: http://homebased2.com/atr/at_the_races.htm

(1) Track Results (thanks George):
A “RESULTS” button has been added. Clicking on this button brings up a window with the days results (1st, 2nd and 3rd place horses) for the current track. Results for the days races are also automatically included in any saved data – whether the data is saved manually, by hitting the “SAVE DATA” button, or automatically. This feature only works when using the “R TRACK LIST”

(2) Partial Wheel (thanks Dick):
"PW-Top" and "PW-Bot" cells have been added to quickly create a dutched exacta or daily double partial wheel. This feature works like the existing exacta “box” cells.

(3) By-The-Minute Favorites (thanks Jack):
All entries which were ever by-the-minute favorites are now highlighted in the BET GRID SCREEN. Any entry whose number is shown in RED had the most money bet on it during at least one minute of the betting. This information summarizes the data shown on the ODDS SCREEN. Jack has found that races with only one by-the-minute favorite have indicated a very solid favorite play. Putting this information on the BET GRID SCREEN allows Jack to quickly find such races without switching to the ODDS SCREEN.

The latest version includes the following new features:

(1) Exacta Odds “By-the-Minute” (thanks Jerry):
An action cell has been added to the ODDS SCREEN. Clicking on this white cell changes the display of the running “by-the-minute” odds from the win pool to the exacta pool and then to a combination of the win and exacta pool. The data is kept internally for these pools, so the decision which pool is used does not have to made up front.

(2) Win, Place and Show prices to the penny (thanks Roger):
An option has been added to change the win, place and show payoffs from the current track payoff (which includes breakage) to a calculated payoff within a penny. These payoffs are shown on the WPS PAYOFFS screen and throughout the BET Screens. Displaying win payoffs to a penny enable a better comparison with the PITZ EXACTA and PITZ DOUBLE values to determine the most efficient way to bet a horse.

(3) Increased data checking (thanks Tom):
The program now does more “sanity” checks to minimize the chance that the internet data is not current.

This might be a little off track...but have you put any thought into integrating an auto wagering system...Something similiar to Cherry Picker where you set the odds and if the horse goes off between a certain odds range then the software makes an auto wager for you.

I am not familiar with Cherry Picker or of a way to auto-wager. If such a system exists, I am certainly interested.

It would be straightforward to develop a "bet-alarm" program which might be a time-saver for spot-bet players, especially those who play multiple tracks. It would not automate the wagering process, but would alert him when a promising situation came up. The user could detail his possible plays for the day at each track including acceptable odds at a specific MTP. The program could work in the background and provide an audio or visual alarm (or email, pager etc) when the conditions were met.

New features include:

(1) Combined Win/Exotics Dutch (thanks Dick):
ATR can now dutch a combination of win bets along with exacta, quinella or daily double bets. A new control, W/E DUTCH button, is enabled after the user has picked at least one win bet and at least one exotics bet. The user simply inputs a total bet amount in the pop-up window that comes up after clicking on this W/E DUTCH button. This W/E DUTCH button can also be used to find the bet amounts necessary to obtain a desired profit by trial-and-error changes with the total bet amount.

(2) Print Bets (thanks Truit):
The $2 bet payout is added to the printout for all bets displayed on the PRINT BETS SCREEN. A “FILTER” button has also been added. Clicking on this button brings up a window where the user inputs his minimum acceptable $2 bet payout. The PRINT BETS SCREEN then displays only those Win, Exacta, Quinella and Double bets that meet this $2 bet payout requirement.
