New Export

I exported data from the new HX exporrt from HTR2001 into Excel, but the dates come out as
01/01/2001 and I cna't reformat them into an actual date field.
Anyone have any ideas to get these dates into a date format so I can sort them>

I don't use excell, but I tried it to see what happened but it worked fine the tdate field came in with the date of the data, in this case 1/6/2002.

Don't have a clue.

I beleive you will need to highlight all the cells with dates, or just click on the column letter for the entire column, then go to Format to Cells and then you can change the data type from there.

We are re-networking my computers at home and am not on my Office computer so I will double check when I get to work...pretty sure that will take care of it.

I find the only way to get the date field right is to take care of it during import.

Open text file which starts the Import Wizard.
Should be delimited.

Click Next.

Should be delimiters - comma (you can leave the tab checked or uncheck it)

Click Next.

Click on the General Heading above the date field column.

Click on Date. (MDY should be OK).

Click Finish.

Been a long time since I done that. Enjoy.

Agree with Ricks, also I learned the hard way that the Win Place Show Exacta and Trifecta fields need to have correct decimal point format when making your own importer.

I went into the tables and changed the format of the fields so that I have all currency numbers for payoffs and actual dates. Works ok now.
